3. Important Notice About Contacting Us Through the Site

Sending us a message through the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only after we have agreed to represent you, typically through a signed engagement agreement.

Please do not send confidential or sensitive information (such as Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or details of a legal dispute) through the contact form or by unencrypted email or text message. Until an attorney-client relationship is established, information you send may not be protected by the attorney-client privilege. We will tell you how to securely send sensitive documents if we agree to work with you.

The Site provides general information only. It is not legal advice.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share information only in these situations:

- Service providers. With vendors who help us run the Site and our practice, such as our website host and builder (GoDaddy), email, phone and text messaging providers, document and case management providers, and security tools like Google reCAPTCHA. They may only use the information to perform services for us.

- Transaction participants. If you are a client, with other parties necessary to complete your matter, such as lenders, title companies, insurers, real estate agents, closing parties, and government offices (for example, the register of deeds), as needed to complete your transaction and with your consent or as permitted by law and our professional rules.

- Legal and safety reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, to enforce our rights, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of others.

- Business changes. If our practice is sold, merged, or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to our professional obligations.

- With your consent. When you ask or authorize us to share it.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site is built and hosted through GoDaddy. The Site and our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality, security, and analytics (for example, to count visits and understand which pages are used). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the Site work.

**Google reCAPTCHA.** Our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google. Google's use of this information is governed by the [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and [Terms of Service](https://policies.google.com/terms).

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law, including the North Carolina Identity Theft Protection Act.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including to meet legal, ethical, accounting, and record-keeping requirements. Client files are retained for the periods required by the North Carolina State Bar rules and applicable law, and then securely destroyed.
